International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE 2024)

 I. Details of the event/activity:

The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) – Central Luzon (Region III) organized the annual International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2024, held on March 8, 2024, at Wesleyan University-Philippines, Cabanatuan City. Our team, especially with Reymart Verzosa who presented our research paper, attended the event.

 

II. Reflections on the activity give rise to (learnings):

Though we didn't win, presenting our research to a diverse audience taught us valuable communication and presentation skills. Observing James defend our work provided insights into effective communication crucial for professional development in IT. Engaging with professionals broadened our perspectives on IT trends. Insights from an AWS speaker enriched our understanding of cloud computing. Despite not winning, the event was a platform for learning and networking.

 

III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learning):

The conference inspired us to explore practical applications of the learnings. Insights from industry professionals highlighted the importance of staying updated with emerging technologies. We plan to integrate the knowledge gained into our academic and professional pursuits, refining methodologies and seeking collaboration opportunities.

 

IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization):

IRCITE 2024 was well-organized, facilitating idea exchange among researchers and practitioners. The diverse topics catered to attendees' interests, fostering a collaborative environment. Esteemed speakers, like the AWS representative, added credibility. Networking opportunities were valuable for connecting within the IT community.

 

V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities:

For future IRCITE iterations, incorporating interactive sessions like workshops could enhance participant engagement. Clearer submission guidelines might streamline the evaluation process. In conclusion, our IRCITE 2024 experience reaffirmed our commitment to IT education and research. We thank PSITE – Central Luzon for organizing the event and look forward to contributing further to the field.
