Siklab 2023: Gordon College Sportfest

 

I.      Details of the event/activity

 

Siklab 2023: Gordon College Sportfest was the event that I attended. Students and sports fans teamed up at Siklab 2023, Gordon College's Sportsfest. The kickoff was super exciting with lots of games. The first day had basketball and other sports, making things really lively. The next day, besides watching arnis, folks got into some serious table tennis matches. And to wrap it all up, the basketball finals on the last day were intense. It was a blast, celebrating everyone's different talents.

 

II.    Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

 

Encouraged by Siklab 2023 to prioritize health and fitness, I realized the vital role communication plays in achieving success. Teamwork and communication were highlighted as the keys to success during the event, reminding me that talents and skills are ineffective without the ability to communicate effectively with teammates or others. This realization motivated me to actively improve my communication skills while emphasizing the importance of staying healthy and physically fit.

 

III.   Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learning)


The event's lessons easily translate into our daily routines. Effective communication becomes crucial in obtaining what we truly desire from others. Additionally, the event taught me the significance of employing critical thinking and decision-making skills in every step I take. These insights have become valuable takeaways, shaping my approach to daily life. Furthermore, they remind me of the importance of considering various perspectives and making informed choices in every situation


IV.  Positive feedback (on the event organization)

Hands down to all departments who put together this awesome three-day sports fest. They made watching all the sports super fun. The way they set everything up made every game really exciting. Their hard work paid off big time, making the whole event a blast for everyone there. Major props to them for making it happen. 

V.    Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities

For me, maybe next time they  use Subic Gym or another cool spot for the sportfest. It'd make watching way more enjoyable and exciting if everyone had a comfy and chill place to hang out. Just a suggestion to make things even better for the next event.

  I.      Details of the event/activity:   On May 23, 2024 I took an Online Course about UI/UX, the website name is Great Learnings where there are so many free online courses you can take. The online course I took Aimed at designers, developers, and other interested professionals, the course sought to provide a comprehensive understanding of UI/UX principles, tools, and techniques.
